Carina is one of the four parts of Argo, one of the 48 constellation created by Claudius Ptolemy.
It is said that the origin of Argo is Star catalog published by Lacaille in 1756, which divided Argo into four Vela Puppis Carina Pyxis.
There are many bright stars, and the area is 494 square degrees, with 216 stars visible to the naked eye.
