Aquarius is constellation created by Claudius Ptolemy. It has an area of 980 square degrees and contains 165 stars that can be seen with the naked eye.
It is one of the 48 Ptolemy constellation and also one of the 12 ecliptic constellation.
In Mesopotamia it was called "Gura" which means "the great one."
In the "Katasterismoi," he is likened to the young boy Ganymede, whose role it was to pour the sacred drink for the great god Zeus.
There is a legend that when Hebe, who served drinks at the banquets of the gods, married Hercules and there was no one to take over the role, Zeus transformed into an eagle and abducted her.
