Dr. KOMBRA Uke Nentepa
I learnt that public and private partnership is well-established in the field of education in Japan. Although the course of study or school curriculum is decided by the government, private companies create/edit and publish textbooks. I was also impressed that it has a strong sense of mission to contribute to the education and the society as a whole, although Keirinkan is a private company making profit.
Mr. HATAGEN Titus Romano
Japanese textbooks are well made by reflecting the course of study and school curriculum decided by the government. And many people are involved in creating a textbook which is good to keep fairness.
Mr. KOPI Lepapa
I was surprised to know that many people―20 to 30 authors, share responsibility to write one textbook, while one person normally write a whole book in my country. In such a way, the textbook can eliminate bias and maintain fairness.
Ms. KULL Martha Malata
The session with Keirinkan in Osaka City was very interesting and informative. There were many interesting things to learn, one of which was the textbook production processes. This process told us the true meaning of quality TEXTBOOKS for teaching school curriculum. Hope the valuable help we got from Japanese people through this session will be utilized to improve the systems used to produce quality textbooks and teaching material in schools in PNG.
Mr. KAKAS John
There were three interesting things I discovered and learnt from Keirinkan Publishing Company yesterday.
  1. The strategy and process used to identify and select potential teachers to be part of the process of textbook development. This was interesting to me because they have to go through some entry tests by producing samples of their own work to prove that they are qualified to write quality materials for the textbooks.
  2. The company is developing materials that also address the Ministerial quest for the “Zest for Life” (Lifelong learning) and promoting Morale Education which soon be a compulsory subject in terms of content. For example, Japanese students must ensure that they use only 1/3 of the walkways/footpath. How much is 1/3 in Mathematics? This is real life learning and I am amazed by it.
  3. The company has math and science equipment, sets, and materials that the writers can use to confirm when teachers perform the activities written in textbook in the classroom, especially for demonstration lessons.
Overall, I should say that Keirinkan is a well-organized company and has its charter set to perform well in the publishing world. Thank you to the management and staff of the company for hosting PNG and we look forward to using some of your ideas in improving our curriculum and textbook development. We hope to meet with you again in the near future.
Ms. TAU Gima Kila
My comment is that I was very impressed with their presentation and their partnership with the government to develop math and science textbooks for the children and future development of Japan. I was very impressed with the Charter which is the bases of their work and dedication to the people of Japan.
Ms. GODUA Essa
Teaching and learning is important for nation building. Thank you for the very valuable information given to us about writing and producing textbooks for students which I have learnt so much. The company has a very important task and therefore, I wish you all the staff best wishes and continue the good job for the children of Japan. Arigato gozaimas.
Mr. RAGU Emmanuel Edward
I have learnt a lot from Keirinkan Textbook Publisher, there is a lot of work and effort being put in writing and compiling the whole textbook. The textbook itself is child-friendly and structured in a way where the teachers can easily interpret and teach to the students in accordance to the curriculum.
Mr. RUPA Armstrong
Was very much impressed with the visit and to know about the process of producing quality textbooks and teaching materials. In terms of private and public partnership, the company's Charter and its collaboration simply shows its commitment to the education and people of Japan. Well done! This is an experience we will definitely take back to our country. Thank you so much Keirinkan.
Ms MOGIA Ula Waugla
The Publisher Keirinkan has the mind of all the children in Japan by producing the best practical and user-friendly textbook. The technology development of Japan will own much to Keirinkan for producing best Math and Science textbook. I am a math teacher and I think the math textbook produced by Keirinkan will help me teach math education as it should be.
Mr. KAMBAIYE Samuel Pembo
From my observation, Keirinkan, a private publishing company, collaborates well with Japanese Ministry of Education. They have produced textbooks of high quality in line with Japanese curriculum and have continually kept Japanese education in mathematics and science in the top 10 at the international level. If PNG were to produce mathematics and science textbooks, PNG should really look at Japan to adapt and adopt the Japanese methods of producing textbooks for elementary and secondary school.
